Welcome to the website of the University of Warwick Brass
Society, incorporating the award-winning Brass Band,
Symphonic Brass Ensemble and a number of smaller quartets
and quintets.
Our ensembles are all unauditioned and are open to students of all courses from the University of Warwick with the exception of Music, since the University has never offered a degree in this subject.
The society has in excess of 50 members, and new members
are always welcome. You can join at any rehearsal or at
the Fresher's Fair early in the first term - membership
costs just 2.50 per year, and we even have a selection
of instruments available for our members.
Rehearsals usually take place during term time in the Arts Centre Ensemble Room, Wednesdays 5:00 - 7:30pm for Brass Band and Fridays 5:00 - 7:30pm for Symphonic Brass Ensemble, but please check the Music Centre noticeboard for details of changes, especially at the start of term. Details of upcoming performances can be found on the Events page of this site.
One of the most important aspects of any society is the
social life, and the Brass Society is no exception.
Our social calendar is perhaps the most action-packed
of any Music Centre Society at Warwick and includes
frequent pub crawls, curries, night club visits, sports,
and most importantly the annual summer camping tours.
